Donation goes to regional organisations and the WWF

FRICKE Social Run 2023 - FRICKE Group donates a record sum

The 100th anniversary year of the FRICKE Group saw the return of the annual FRICKE Social Run. In keeping with the slogan ‘GROW. 100 years of growth’, colleagues around the world spent four weeks raising money for good causes, including WWF’s rainforest conservation efforts plus ten regional projects. Altogether the company raised a record sum of €38,906.

For the fourth year in a row, FRICKE Group employees taking part in the FRICKE Social Run have raised a record amount of money for charity. Over a period of four weeks, colleagues around the world collected two euros for every kilometre covered as part of the company’s traditional charity run. Together they covered a total distance of 16,953 kilometres. This year, the Heeslingen-based family business is supporting both WWF’s rainforest conservation efforts and ten regional projects based in Germany and other European countries.

A reason to celebrate

On the occasion of the FRICKE Group’s 100th anniversary, the donations from the FRICKE Social Run were handed over to the regional projects based in Germany at an event in Heeslingen. Managing Director of the FRICKE Group Hans-Peter Fricke and his wife Kirsten Fricke personally thanked representatives of the seven charitable organisations for their daily commitment.

“We were so impressed with the commitment of these organisations to the common good. We’re pleased that so many people are still passionate about doing good, and that we can use our donation to help make a difference in our society,” said Hans-Peter Fricke.

A donation of €2196 was awarded to each organisation including the De Dörpskinner and Regenbogen nurseries in Ahlerstedt, the forest school in Breddorf, the Wiesenwichtel nursery in Tiste, and the Zeven Youth Red Cross. The Kleine Strolche children’s home in Asendorf which specialises in caring for traumatised children, and the Buxtehuder helfen association which provides help to adults and children in difficult situations were also pleased to receive this sum.

Active worldwide

With 337 runners from 14 countries and 16,953 kilometres covered in 2458 individual runs, the FRICKE Social Run 2023 was the FRICKE Group’s most successful campaign of this kind to date. In addition to runners from European branches of the FRICKE Group such as Denmark, France, Spain and Poland, employees from the New Delhi branch in India also took part in the fundraising campaign.

The three European organisations were selected by the FRICKE Group employees themselves, and each received a donation of €2196. This year the FRICKE Group is once again supporting a wide range of projects in Europe, from ALS research in Spain, to the reconstruction of an outdoor swimming pool in Denmark, to skiing holidays for children and young people with disabilities in Belgium.

The largest donation of €16,953 from this year’s FRICKE Social Run is being used to support WWF’s rainforest conservation efforts. In Salonga National Park in the Congo Basin, WWF is working to preserve the habitat of numerous species. In keeping with their anniversary slogan ‘GROW. 100 years of growth’ the FRICKE Group is committed to shaping a future worth living.
